Safder Haidar,

Safder is a transportation planner with experience in providing traffic engineering and safety services throughout Ontario. He has worked with both the Ministry of Ontario and regional municipal policies, procedures, guidelines, standards, and best practices, preparing numerous transportation impact studies across the province.

Safder is skilled in traffic data analysis, collision analysis, traffic volume forecasting, traffic operational analysis, temporary traffic signals, and traffic management plans. He has a strong understanding of the Ministry’s Ontario Traffic Manuals, including Book 5: Regulatory Signs, Book 7: Temporary Conditions, Book 12: Traffic Signals, and Book 18: Cycling Facilities. He uses these resources to assess warrants for intersection control and to apply the Ministry’s Design Supplement for the Transportation Association of Canada's Geometric Design Guide for Canadian Roads, specifically for evaluating left- and right-turn lane warrants and sight distances.

Safder is proficient in various traffic engineering software platforms and analysis methodologies, including Synchro, SimTraffic, Multi-Modal Level of Service (MMLOS), and the Highway Capacity Manual (HCM).

I am adept at navigating the multifaceted challenges inherent in transportation engineering, ensuring the successful execution of projects while maintaining a keen focus on efficiency, and adherence to industry standards.

Throughout my career, I've remained passionate about the field, continuously pursuing professional development and staying current with industry trends.

Sear is a Traffic Engineering and Transportation Planning Project Manager with about a decade of experience, planning and delivering traffic, transit, and railway infrastructure projects in Canada and internationally. His technical skills include traffic studies, modeling & simulation, traffic and transit management plans, and railway planning & operation modeling.
